Carn Llechart This 'stone circle' is in fact an impressive ring cairn, a burial mound about 3,500 years old. 25 stone slabs have been hauled into a circle. In the middle are the remains of a cist, a box made of smaller slabs of stone. The body was placed here and there was once a stone slab over the top, but it has now gone. The cist would once have been covered by a mound of earth, held back by the upright stones.
